Post Dominion XI - 5 Day |
| Posted by jim - 08-20-10 00:40 - 5 comments |
 |
There are various bits and bobs that need sorting out post 5 day. We discussed quite a lot on site but I would like to use this thread as the reference point for "things that changed due to the events of the 5 day".
Obviously we have just seen a significant development in the Dominion Campaign plot which will have quite an effect on how we all imagine life on Malkuth. It will be at least Easter next year before we run the next event by which point things will doubtless have moved on a little at the village of Ausgewogen. Between now and then it is my intention to produce 2 new maps: one of Ausgewogen and the surrounding area, another showing the updated and expanded campaign area.
Much of the detail of how the "new nation" develops will be left to time in. I don't intend to do too much downtime story telling as I think it is better to deliver plot in character rather than by email! That said however there will have to be a bit of down time plot development between now and Easter just to move things along a little.
I'm not going to go into much detail at the moment but I would like to take the opportunity to point out that the "new nation" is very much in it's infancy. There is no form of government yet, no structures of any note and no social or economic systems in place. There aren't enough practitioners of magic or power to take the place of technology so effectively it is little more than a medieval refugee camp. There is a huge amount of goodwill amongst the people and a strong feeling of hope but anybody with an ounce of common sense recognises that these people will need leadership and direction sooner rather than later.
The Lightblades are doing what they can to try and organise people and help the incoming refugees set up dwellings in as ordered a manner as possible. The Forstvalk in the area have agreed to help however they can. At the moment they are concentrating on provision of food and maintaining wardings around the perimeter of the area (the inner river banks). The focus at the moment is to get through the first winter. A small number of Grey Guard, along with a handful of skilled labourers and few craftsmen have been sent by Sanctuary to help wherever possible.
Rugnar Firejaw is being incredibly helpful. Two dozen very strong Vrek have been put to work on labouring duties and the Dark High Master himself has been handing out food and blankets to newly arriving refugees!
Some of the refugees come in large groups with a semblance of a leadership structure already in place (family elders, village leaders, mayors, etc etc). It is reported that there are members of the Klinge and Vollheim families amongst the refugees and one or two other old noble names knocking around. It seems likely that natural leaders will start to come forward in time but there are numerous insinuations and accusations floating around regarding how easily certain families or individuals collaborated with the Yagor. D’Arn believes that this issue of collaboration will be a significant aspect of future politics in the “new nation”.
Mr Hunchpole will be pleased to hear however that people are far too busy building homes and gathering food to talk about cabbages! |

I have just had the sanctry news read out to me and they said that some nut job called Stalius Ampark from the yellow school is not wanting to let people get there geer Emp or Ens past the "second grade" unless your from sanctuary, but they want clan's men to go and help with the fighting in the south..... they even put the two messages on the same page! as if to say "yeah go ahead and help in the fight but by the way we arnt going to give you all the support you need from back here for no better reason than we dont want to, this is more concerning to me than sum cheeky little hobbits avin a go at Sheridan's family.
They are saying come to war with us, but we arent going to help you fight. Yeah were allies and supposed to be equal but some are more equal is what it looks like! |

11th Mission Report from Malkuth |

Err no this is not the finished thing.
I suspect that might take a while to compile and write i just thought i would put up some scroll translations to aid in the cause. I think everybody might have to chip in on this one, notes are probably a little sparse after day three or so. Any help you can give about what you remember would no doubt come in useful.

Autumn Event 2010 ~ 36hr ~ Wolf Clan |
| Posted by Andy - 08-3-10 13:02 - 17 comments |

After a fantastic event by the Dominion Team, its now time to get your name down on the list for the Autumn Event. It's just not that long away, (only 9 weeks in fact)and we need to get sorted asap.
As stated in the title it will be the next event comprising mainly of the Wolf Clan and their allies, Event Level will probably settle around the Low ~ Med Level. It will be held at Tatton Park, a favourite site of ours that unfortunately has not been available for quite a while. Really looking forward to using it again, the asmophere of the place is amazing, if you've never been to this site this is your chance.
If interested players could reply to this thread we can begin to get things sorted. If you can find time to spend your xp sooner rather than later it would help a lot. Any questions about Champion Ability's could also do with sorting out asap.
All monsters should send me a PM or phone to let me know you can make it.
Cheers
1. Julius ~ Sherik 2. Jon M. ~ Bryn 3. Ben ~ Beltain 4. Mattie - Korg 5. Gordon - Rahl 6. Bert - Aiko (prob) 7. Geoff - Grune 8. Jim - Raljeks 9. Pete - Wirapega (prob) 10. Fig - Grim 11. Noel - Shagrat The Wolf 12. 13. 14. 15. |

5 day Bonus XP. |
| Posted by Andy - 08-2-10 03:14 - 8 comments |
 |
Hi all.
As mentioned at the start of the 5day we would like to try a little something different. We are going to allow players and monsters alike to nominate somebody for bonus XP. You may enter a maximum of three nominations that the refs will take into consideration when totaling the XP for the players.
Try to fit your nominations into one of three catagories, ~
1. Roleplaying. 2. Character doing his job. (ie. Fighting for warriors. etc.) 3. General usefulness to the party (or other heroic things.)
Please try to be as specific as possible and give your reasons for your nomination. Closing date for nominations will be the 14th of August, we would like to get the points resolved asap.
Please PM Jim with your nominations, or alternatively post below.
Cheers

The Order of Aphrael |
| Posted by jim - 08-1-10 23:49 - 10 comments |
 |
Just to clarify on something mentioned in the debrief...
The Lightblades, in agreement with Sana Aphrael intend to establish a new Order to recognise the sacrifice made by Sarrus Aphrael and honour those who quested to destroy the Dread Lord and the Zerem-Maqt.
As there is currently no known rightful heir to the Vethousen throne, and no other nobles currently in a position to declare themselves rightful ruler it would be inappropriate to establish a knightly order.
It has therefore been suggested that the following individuals are granted the honorary title of First of the Order of Aphrael.
Tyler Romain Korg Stomar Tempest Blade Asahina Akio Ped Gingercake Juniior III Morsillion Celebrinlas Sheridan Hunchpole Berek Wertson Sherik Maelock Rahl Hephastion Aiglos Polaria Elifir Brother Robin Gertrude of the Hexen Shallendur Tekenduis Oldemar - Circle Leader of Light Rugnor Firejaw - Dark High Master of the Unholy Church of Salesh Vrek D'Arn Lightblade Sana Aphrael The Earth Weird
If and when the royal line is re-established the order will be recognised as a true knightly order and it's founding members will be offered the opportunity to accept their due title should they wish to abide by the strict code of conduct it would carry with it.
For now, the First of the Order of Aphrael, will be recognised as those who bring protection, courage and hope to the oppressed of Malkuth. |

Summer Event 2010 ~ Directions to site. |
| Posted by Berek Wertson - 07-6-10 23:20 - 4 comments |
 |
Hooray. Its time for the 5day.
Players ~ Please resolve any outstanding battle boarding issues by Friday 9th.
Please remember your character cards / item cards / sufficient money to pay for the event / sufficient money to pay what you owe for the last event. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The first site we will be using for this event will be Borwick Tavern, nr Newtown, Mid Wales.
Directions ~ to Borwick Tavern
Arriving in Newtown from either the South (A489) or East (A483) you come to a busy roundabout with a McDonald’s. Turn North over the river and then take the first right (NOT VERY FAR)(signposted B4568: Betws Cedewain and Llanllwchairan). Passing a Costcutter and then the Waggon and Horses pub on your right you enter Tan-Y-Craig. Take the next right turn (signposted “Nature Reserve”~brown sign on left hand side) just after a church. Follow this road round to the left, passing Craigwen House, and take the next farm track on the left diagonally uphill. (I will try to attach a sign to this gatepost)This track is unmarked and unpaved, but has a small disused quarry on the left where it leaves the road and a ruined barn more or less opposite. Continue up the farm track for half a mile and stop when you see the barn. Come to the barn for parking instructions. For those using sat-nav the Waggon and Horses is at SY16 2JB.
Campsite Address Frondolfor Farm Frondolfor, Llanllwchaiarn, Newtown, Powys, SY16 3BH Tel: 01686 629960 (Please don’t use this number except in absolute emergency) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Everyone is welcome from Friday afternoon, a great chance to catch up on previous plot if you’re a player or find out about the plot for the forthcoming event if you are a monster. We will be finishing any last minute battle boarding issues and having a few beers. Hopefully we will have the projector with us and get chance to watch some old event footage during the course of the evening. Friday night is Party night. A “21years of Sword and Sorcery” celebration! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sleeping ~ at Borwick Tavern
There is limited accommodation in the barn reserved for players, monsters will need a tent please bring one. If you don’t have a tent or if you have spare space in your tent for others please let me know.
Players could bring a tent if you have one for Friday night if you prefer, might make it easier. After Friday players will be sleeping in the barn.
It is nice to attempt to keep the player sleeping areas as in character as possible. So throws for over the sleeping bags tends to make the place look a little better and IC bags for your kit and food. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We will not start the event till Saturday afternoon, when our hangovers have subsided slightly. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We will be staying at Borwick till Monday afternoon when we will move to our second site ~ Stockswood, for the rest of the event. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ( I will post a direct route from Borwick ~ Stockswood as soon as I am able.) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Directions ~ to Stockswood
The best way to get to StocksWood is via Lydney. Lydney is 1 mile from the A48 which runs from Gloucester to Chepstow. Gloucester is 19 miles away.
On the main road through Lydney is a Tesco’s with a garage. This is a good place to stop for fuel and/or food and drink. The Tesco’s is open 8am – 10pm Monday – Saturday and 10am – 4pm Sunday. (I don’t know about Good Friday)
Turn off opposite the garage onto Bream Rd. Follow this Rd for 4.4 miles and you come to a T junction. Turn right and go for 1.2 miles. Turn left. Immediately on your left is the entrance to Clearwell Caves car and coach park. Opposite this entrance is the entrance to Stockswood. (If you keep an eye out for signs for Clearwell caves you know you are going the right way.)
You should be able to see our cars parked on field to the left, please use this space to sort your kit before continuing on. Follow the road up the hill and around to the left, you will need to do a quick drop off and bring your car back down to the car park. We hope to make the site move as quick and simple as possible, please try to assist with this by having your kit sorted so we can get back to “time in” asap.
Stockswood LRP Site Lambquay Road Clearwell Gloucestershire GL16 8JR
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sleeping ~ at Stockswood
Players ~ For Stockswood events you should bring everything you would bring for camping except the tent itself. Players will be sleeping in the huts. Also worth noting is that straw bails are the usual provision for sleeping comfort , if you want to make sure of your comfort please bring an alternative along. Ie. Pop up camp bed, if you don't have one there are a FEW on site....
Monsters ~ Will be sleeping in the dorm rooms in the tavern, or your tents in you prefer. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Food ~ (both sites) Friday night we will be having a barbecue, so remember to bring some food to go on the barbeque.
Food will be being provided as usual for this event. Breakfast and a hot meal at some point in the evening etc.... Even though we are providing food, don’t forget to bring plate, bowl, mug and cutlery. Please feel free to bring some of your own food in case you are hungry at other times. There is running cold water on both sites. If you have a water butt please bring it along.
Whilst we try to include feeding monsters to some extent on our events within the budget, for this event a contribution of £5 / day to the food kitty will be required to be included in the food arrangements. You know its worth it! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Monsters ~ Monsters should consult the "Monstering" Forum in Events for a list of what else to bring as this will really help the stress levels in Monsterbase and make your event a lot more enjoyable. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
No doubt i have forgotten something, i will update this post as we go.
I will be leaving for site Friday 22nd morning so after that you will be able to get me intermittently on my mobile. Signal at site is sporadic. Texts are usually the best solution.
Any questions please get in contact or post below.
If you need a lift or think you will have space to give someone a lift, please let me know ASAP. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As a final note, this will be the first 5day we have run in quite a while, due to the level of commitment and organisation they require from the Refs and Monster Crew. I'm sure any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Even if you can only come to monster a part of it, im sure it would lift morale in Monsterbase immensely. To have few new faces on any of the days is real bonus and lifts a little of the pressure. To make this event even more special it will be the first ever Dominion 5day event. I know all the players are really looking forward to it, the boards have been quiet lately, but i know most of you are very busy with real life commitments. Many people have been working on this event for some time now and still are. A few lines on the boards to check in and confirm your support is always well recieved.
Hope you are all well and hope to see you all soon.
Hello everyone,
It is pretty quiet here at Reverheim. There are only a handful of us here now, holding the fort, so to speak.
I can't believe the traders all pulled out just because of this tax issue. Such an over reaction. You would think they would have just gone on Strike or something like they have Before! They are legging it as though a flood Gate Is about to Open.
A quorum of trusted individuals from the Guild council have been doing their best to sort the "tax situation" out. A Lady from the Blue School has been zipping back and forth with various important sanctuary types. She has been very busy Relative to me! I'm sure they know what they are doing. That Dark Elf seems very even handed, he suggests it is very important to get the Balance right. It's Weird just how many individuals are all involved.
You know, its a bit lonely here at the moment. Looking forward to some company. When you come don't forget to bring me something nice to cheer me up. I am just Sat Here all on my own. It would be nice to share a Jug with you whilst warming ourselves around a Brazier. Don't need to Hammer it home but I miss some of your Old Rituals. Maybe you could find time to chat about them amongst yourselves. I know a Massive amount of time hasn't passed but the Scale of my work means I end up forgetting to relax sometimes.
That Lady doesn't always come through the orb. If you need anything answering urgently you could probably get an open message to me by dropping a sealed envelope with the blue school. The orb isn't exactly easily controlled at the moment you see?? its probably still a bit broken. I might be able to get a similarly open message back to you but time and opportunity will limit our chats to a great degree. It S Hard Teaching a wizard to stand still for more than 2 minutes.
Anyway, enough tittle tattle, just wanted to let you all know that I am fine and looking after the important stuff. When you do get chance to pop over and see me, make sure you bring everything you think you might need. Everything.
Over to you.
I know you've been working hard on putting together updates to the rules from the changes at the 'celestial event' and the suggestions we all made on the other thread.
Has any of this been put together in a published format that we can read yet? |
Hi everyone, I have taken on the role of trying to make sure that all characters have the right cards for the equipment and items they are carrying and using.
I have already PM'd those going on the 5day but have not had any response so far from anyone. While I know that the game is not quite on us yet the sooner I can get this sorted the better as then I will be able to make sure everyone has the right cards they need.
Cheers
Matty
P.S. I am concentrating primarily on the players for the game coming up though am going to try and get round to everyone in time :-) P.P.S. If you can remember the dungeon's from which items were found it would be GREATLY appreciated :-) if not then no worries |
